I love Plants vs Zombies!

pvz2

Thanks to this review from Wired, I’ve now got an awesome new time waster called Plants vs Zombies. From Popcap games, here’s the description:

“A mob of fun-loving zombies is about to invade your home, and your only defense is an arsenal of 49 zombie-zapping plants. Use peashooters, wall-nuts, cherry bombs and more to mulchify 26 types of zombies before they can reach your front door.

Each zombie has its own special skills, so you’ll need to think fast and plant faster to combat them all. But be careful how you use your limited supply of greens and seeds… as you battle the fun-dead, obstacles like a setting sun, creeping fog and a swimming pool add to the challenge. And with five game modes to dig into, the fun never dies!”

This game is really funny and completely addicting. Two hours blew by before I realized I had not charged my laptop enough and I got the black screen of death right when the Michael Jackson “Thriller” Zombie entered the screen. Frak. Sure, it’s not Left 4 Dead. There’s not much gore except for the rolling zombie heads but it’s not meant to be. Give it a try and I think you will be amazed at how much fun it is. It did seem to easy in the beginning, more like a kids game, but as you progress thru the different levels you realize it’s become a challenging game of strategy. Click here to try it out for FREE.

Rope of Silicon just reminded me that The Hunt for Gollum is now available for viewing online. If you haven’t heard of this film before, it’s an amazing independent fan film, adapted from elements of the appendices of The Lord of the Rings and follows Aragorn as he searches for Gollum. The best part is that they did this all for $3,000! I just finished watching it and was truly impressed by the quality of the production. View the complete movie for free in HD here.
