True Blood news.

tblood

Not a big suprise…True Blood has been picked up for a third season. Can’t wait to see where Alan Ball takes the series next summer. By the way, what did you think of last Sunday’s episode? I just got caught up on the last two episodes. Wow, alot was going on there with all the having sex in a bed of blood thing and a giant pig running around Bon Temp, and of course the orgy scene. That show gets a little more insane every week…and I love it all.

Also, HBO says it will start selling Tru Blood to the masses starting in December:

“The blood-orange carbonated drink has a slightly tart and lightly sweet flavor that is sure to taste better than the O negative blood consumed by the show’s fictional vampires.

The blood-orange carbonated drink has a slightly tart and lightly sweet flavor that is sure to taste better than the O negative blood consumed by the show’s fictional vampires. The blood orange carbonated drink will taste slightly sweet and slightly tart and retail at $16 for a 4 pack. Pricey. Read more about it here.

Here’s some strange/stupid stuff in the news this week:

These people are trying to get Pole Dancing in as an Olympic sport.

Heard this story on NPR’s Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me. Some dopes want to use robot technology to carve advertisements into the Moon’s surface that would be visible from Earth.

and finally…

Crazy people with too much money are having surgery to get rid of cankles.

I’m totally over this whole Summer thing.

fanEveryone in Oregon enjoying the 100+ degree heat? I’m choosing to do the sensible thing and hide in my cave until the sun goes down. Here’s some goodies I found while wandering around the interwebs today:

Check out the True Blood clip that debuted at Comic Con, along with some character revelations from creator, Alan Ball.

NJ.com recaps the Doctor Who panel at this year’s Comic Con.

Highlights from the Torchwood/Being Human panel at CC via Zap2it. Warning: Contains spoilers if you haven’t finished watching Torchwood: Children of Earth yet.

Eureka is coming back for a fourth season. Yay! Airlock Alpha has details on upcoming episodes and talks to Neil Grayson(Fargo) about being the voice of SARAH.

If you are lucky enough to be in Baltimore on July 30th, you can attend the Baltimore Museum of Industry’s wrap up party for the close of  The Wire exhibit, which officially ends on August 1st.

Jon Stewart + Brian Williams = Best Daily Show Ever. Ok, I’m exaggerating, but it was really funny.

I think that’s enough to get you started, try to stay cool if you can…

New Alice in Wonderland trailer.

It won’t hit the theaters until March 10th, 2010, but Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland looks like it will kick ass from this preview. It looks visually amazing and c’mon, Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter? Perfection.

The video was yanked from Daily Motion so you will have to click the People Magazine link here to check it out.
