True Blood: “Sucker Punch”. No kidding.

So what did everyone think about lastnight’s True Blood? I was a little disappointed, this episode really felt like a filler. Did Alan Ball step out of the room when they wrote this one? The whole season is only 12 episodes so to have an episode wasted like that is a little irritating. The show should have stayed in Dallas and spent a little more time on the whole Fellowship/Godric storyline.

I will let Mark Blankenship over at The Huffington Post explain all the reasons why last night’s show was a disaster.

Megashark vs Giant Squid Tonight!

I hope no one has plans tonight because the SyFy(still hate that name) network has taken care of this evening’s entertainment with…

megashark

Here I thought I was going to have to go buy the DVD. I love you, SyFy Saturday Movies!

Via Wikipedia:

“The film features veteran actor Lorenzo Lamas and singer/songwriter Deborah Gibson as part of its cast, and was originally titled Mega Shark Versus Giant Octopus 3D, but “3D” was stricken from the title when the studio failed to acquire adequate funding for 3-D film.”

Shocking I know. Who wouldn’t want to fund this gem of a film right? The best part is that Ms. Gibson thinks there may be a sequel:

“Following the buzz generated by the release of the film’s trailer, Gibson hinted on an interview that a sequel may be in the works. “Because God knows what else is in the ocean”, she said. “I thought maybe a seahorse? Maybe a 500-foot (150 m) lobster would be good. But yes, there is the potential for a sequel, and I would absolutely love it.”

Heather, my love, there’s a new bad series headed our way.

I must be psychic. Well probably not, I just know that Hollywood has run out of original ideas and is going to develop Heathers into a tv show. Variety.com reports:

“(The)Dark comedy will be adapted for TV by scribe Mark Rizzo, with an assist from “Sex and the City” alum Jenny Bicks. Sony Pictures TV, where Bicks is based, will produce, along with Lakeshore Entertainment, which holds the rights to “Heathers.”

It’ll probably be like Gossip Girl meets 90210 with a few suicides tossed in. Who will be the new Veronica and JD? Oooh I know, Michelle Trachtenberg and Zac Efron. They’ll probably try to get Winona and Christian to guest star as the parents. Cringe.

What’s coming up for The CW’s Supernatural.

supernatural

SciFi Wire talks to Supernatural creator and producer, Eric Kripke, about the upcoming(and final?) season. If you will recall, last season ended on a cheerful note with Sam and Dean releasing Lucifer from hell. Oops. Season five will be all about the Apocalypse and the battle to return Lucifer to the dark pits from which he emerged. Plan on seeing alot of familiar faces says Kripke:

“”That’s always so much more fun than trying to break a new character. Rufus [Steven Williams] and Ellen [Samantha Ferris] come back as a hunter duo now. He insisted on hunting, and Ellen insisted that he’s hunting with her. Meg is back, just not in the meat suit of [actress] Nicki Aycox. I would have loved to have had it in the meat suit of Nicki. We literally spent out the logic of how that could happen, and we couldn’t. But she’s in the body of the talented actress Rachael Miner. We are trying to bring back as many as we can: Chuck [Rob Benedict], Zachariah [Kurt Fuller]. I love our recurring cast of players.”

One person not confirmed to return is the Winchester’s dad,Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who was killed at the end of season 2. Kripke says with Jeffrey being a big movie star and all now, it may be a challenge. Hopefully he can make an appearance before the show comes to an end.

The new season starts on September 10th. Read the rest of the article here for more details.

Once a vampire…

eric

It’s a bit of typecasting, but Cam Gigandet(Twilight) and Stephen Moyer(True Blood), have been cast in the new vampire film Priest. The movie, starring Paul Bettany and Maggie Q, follows a priest (Paul Bettany) who rebels against the church to avenge a group of murderous vampires who have kidnapped his niece. Gigandet’s character helps the priest because he is in love with his niece, while Moyer plays the brother of the clergyman.

Here’s some other True Blood items of interest:
