Jonathan Coulton needs his own show.

True/Slant asks Jonathan Coulton for his take on the new Fall shows. Good lord there are alot of medical dramas on the list. Why did we need a long, dragged out farewell to ER if it was just going to come back in the form of three new shows?

Just because I love him so, here are two of my favorite JC songs:

Code Monkey

I’m a waitress…what the f*** are you?

True-Blood-Dr-Jays

Sooo…thoughts…questions…comments about last night’s True Blood? Overall, it was just ok for me. I’m happy that Maryann and Eggs are gone and that the town is back to it’s usual Springfield-like self. I had hoped to see more of Queen Sophie, although I am sure that she will be a focus of the show next season. Sookie just grated on me, she was pretty useless when she had that whole glowy hand thing going on the last time she faced Maryann. She was a big wimp in this episode, with a whole lot of crying and yelling “Let meeee go Beeel!”

Newsweek has a few questions after last night’s finale.

E!Online has a few notes after watching the show.

Chicago Tribune talks to Nelsan Ellis(Lafayette) about the finale and what’s next for his character.

A new cast member has been added for next season, Tony winner Dennis O’Hare will be the new King of Mississippi.

Nine long months until Season Three gang! No idea where I will get my cheap thrill from now.

Supernatural recap – spoilers ahead…

SUPERNATURAL

If you missed the return of Supernatural lastnight, get thee to iTunes and watch it, because damn it was amazing. You can get a full recap over at Zap2It here.

The portal from hell is open for business and Lucifer set out in search of a vessel(meat suit) to inhabit before he takes control/burns the world. Bobby turned all black eyed demon and then stabbed himself to get the demon to exit his body, so he’s now in a hospital. I really think Bobby has used up at least 8 of his 9 lives. Meg the bitch demon came back to briefly torment/beat up the Winchesters before exiting in a black mist. Castiel was allegedly blown apart by Zachariah and the other angels in the FBI suits, but made an appearance just in time to save Sam and Dean from being torn to shreds by Zachariah and his sidekicks. The show ended on a happy note though, with Lucifer convincing the vessel to let him take his body over and Dean telling Sam he can never trust him again.

I have officially found my new tv obsession. Move over Glee.

Also, here’s a freebiego here to download the song “O Death”, from last season.

Werewolves and Vampires. Oh my.

SciFi Wire says the new CW series, The Vampire Diaries, is worth watching. Really.

I’ll watch it at least once, but from the preview I saw, it looked tedious and angsty:

Does anyone remember Paul Wesley from Wolf Lake that lasted only one season in 2001? He played a teenager then too, kinda weird to still be playing a teenager almost 9 years later. I think Wolf Lake was ahead of it’s time, it starred Lou Diamond Phillips as a cop trying to find his girlfriend who disappeared under mysterious circumstances. The trail leads him to Wolf Lake, a town chock full of werewolves. The cast was fantastic, Graham Greene played a science teacher, Tim Matheson as the sheriff trying desperately to keep the town’s rogue wolves in check and Sharon Lawrence played the wife of the alpha wolf. I couldn’t find a DVD that didn’t seem to be a bootleg, but you can catch reruns on SyFy or the Chiller network occasionally. I also found it on YouTube, but you have to watch it in segments.

I have no quirky title for this post.

Happy long weekend everyone. The holiday weekend means there will be no new Eureka or True Blood. There will however be a brand spanking new Mad Men and the ION network will be debuting a new series, Durham County.  Durham County looks kinda Twin Peak-ish from the previews. Here are today’s tidbits:

Lorne Michaels adds two new female cast members to SNL…then promptly fires two others

Chicago Now talks to Hugh Dillon, star of the new Durham County, and currently starring in Flashpoint.

True Blood’s Eggs, has a new gig.

TVSquad has a sneak peak at this week’s Mad Men.

Project Runway’s Tim Gunn…now in comic book form!

That’s it for now gang, more to come this weekend. Now get out and enjoy your day!

Omar’s back! Omar’s back!

omar

Ok, so not quite. He is however part of the cast of Boardwalk Empire, Martin Scorsese’s new show for HBO which just got picked up for 12 episodes. The show will air in 2010 along with David Simon’s Treme, which features several former cast members from The Wire.

Here are a few links that may interest you…or not:

Mad Men was picked up for a fourth season. I thought last week’s show was pretty good. I loved the look Joan gave Dr. Jackass while she played the accordian. Seems like the power may have shifted in that dysfunctional relationship over the season break.

Jezebel has the 12 Steps to Save American Apparel from Itself.

Also via Jezebel, Whitney Houston’s performance on GMA. It was ummm interesting.

…and finally, don’t miss the re-aired pilot episode from the new series, Glee, tonight at 8:58pm on FOX. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s the anti-High School Musical. It’s got Jane Lynch and the best version of Journey’s “Don’t Stop Beliving” I’ve ever heard. What’s not to love!?!
