Once a vampire…

eric

It’s a bit of typecasting, but Cam Gigandet(Twilight) and Stephen Moyer(True Blood), have been cast in the new vampire film Priest. The movie, starring Paul Bettany and Maggie Q, follows a priest (Paul Bettany) who rebels against the church to avenge a group of murderous vampires who have kidnapped his niece. Gigandet’s character helps the priest because he is in love with his niece, while Moyer plays the brother of the clergyman.

Was True Blood worth the wait?

eric

So what did you all think of the season premiere of True Blood? I loved it. Just in case you haven’t seen it yet, I won’t reveal any big spoilers, but it’s safe to say I was pleased with the direction Alan Ball is taking. He is straying quite a bit away from the books, but I like where it’s going and it should be a great season.

Minor spoiler alert: Also, how funny was Eric coming down the stairs in a track suit with his hair wrapped in foil for his highlights right before he bites the crap out of that redneck?

SciFi Wire has an interesting interview with Alexander Skarsgard as he discusses developing the character of Eric Northman:

“Season one was an introduction to Eric,” Skarsgard said in an exclusive phone interview last week. “You didn’t see much more than the one side, which is him being the bad-ass vampire leader. In season two we go deeper, and you’ll understand that he is more complex than that and has a sensitive side and a very loyal side. He can be a great friend. He doesn’t like a lot of people, but if he likes you, then he’s extremely loyal. For an actor, it’s something I love to do, to go deeper and play more. I felt that after season one, people were always like, ‘Eric is the evil vampire,’ and I always defended Eric, because I don’t see him as evil at all.”
