Canceled. The word that seems to follow so many of my favorite shows. I didn’t even share my grief with you all over the cancellation of Chicago Code. The pain is still too deep.

Read the official statement from SyFy(still hating that name by the way) about the cancellation here.

EW asks what this means for the future of SyFy.

Erica Cera(Depuy Lupo) gives here thoughts on the end of Eureka.

CNN has a few celebrity reactions to the cancellation.

I will go drown myself in a pint of Three Twins and console myself with the knowledge that there is still a Christmas special and season 5 to look forward to.

I have no quirky title for this post.

Happy long weekend everyone. The holiday weekend means there will be no new Eureka or True Blood. There will however be a brand spanking new Mad Men and the ION network will be debuting a new series, Durham County.  Durham County looks kinda Twin Peak-ish from the previews. Here are today’s tidbits:

Lorne Michaels adds two new female cast members to SNL…then promptly fires two others

Chicago Now talks to Hugh Dillon, star of the new Durham County, and currently starring in Flashpoint.

True Blood’s Eggs, has a new gig.

TVSquad has a sneak peak at this week’s Mad Men.

Project Runway’s Tim Gunn…now in comic book form!

That’s it for now gang, more to come this weekend. Now get out and enjoy your day!

Everyone ready for the weekend? Although, when you are unemployed like I am, everyday is a weekend right? Just with a lot less money. But who cares about the whole being broke thing when Mad Men is coming back! So grab your gimlet and check out a few goodies I grabbed from the interwebs today:

EOnline! has two short previews of this Sunday’s True Blood. I hope someon beats the snot out of Maryann.

Via Comic Book Resources, artist Andy Swist has created True Blood Paperdolls. Click here to print out the PDF and get cuttin’!

Check out the new Vanity Fair photos of Mad Men’s Jon Hamm and January Jones, shot by Annie Leibovitz.  The beautiful photos and in depth article written by Bruce Handy, can be found in the September issue.

USA Today discusses the style and culture of Mad Men as it relates to today.

Five questions with Eureka’s Colin Ferguson. A new episode is on tonight at 8pm on SyFy(I hate that name).

SciFi Wire reviews a couple of new movie releases, District 9 and The Time Traveler’s Wife.

That’s it for now. Happy Friday all.

I’m totally over this whole Summer thing.

fanEveryone in Oregon enjoying the 100+ degree heat? I’m choosing to do the sensible thing and hide in my cave until the sun goes down. Here’s some goodies I found while wandering around the interwebs today:

Check out the True Blood clip that debuted at Comic Con, along with some character revelations from creator, Alan Ball.

NJ.com recaps the Doctor Who panel at this year’s Comic Con.

Highlights from the Torchwood/Being Human panel at CC via Zap2it. Warning: Contains spoilers if you haven’t finished watching Torchwood: Children of Earth yet.

Eureka is coming back for a fourth season. Yay! Airlock Alpha has details on upcoming episodes and talks to Neil Grayson(Fargo) about being the voice of SARAH.

If you are lucky enough to be in Baltimore on July 30th, you can attend the Baltimore Museum of Industry’s wrap up party for the close of  The Wire exhibit, which officially ends on August 1st.

Jon Stewart + Brian Williams = Best Daily Show Ever. Ok, I’m exaggerating, but it was really funny.

I think that’s enough to get you started, try to stay cool if you can…

Taxes…ack.

quinn01small

I was feeling a little depressed with Tax Day coming and with me having no money and stuff, when I read that Ed Quinn, formerly of Eureka, has been added to the cast of True Blood. Yay! I’m much better now.

Yes, I watch True Blood. I love that show and cannot wait for it to return. It’s amazing to me how many people I run into who tell me they started watching it thinking it was going to suck (hah…see how I made a vamp reference there…sorry) but ended up really liking it. There’s murder and shape shifters and hot vampires that don’t sparkle. I mean really…what’s not to love? Check out the opening credits from Season 1 as sung by Jace Everett along with a few minutes from the premiere(warning: it does contain a few swear words and sexual references if you’re bothered by that kinda stuff).
