“Hitting the Ground”

Well, last night’s True Blood was something wasn’t it?  I wonder how many gallons of fake blood Alan Ball goes thru in an episode? I bet he ups the order with each new show.

So, we bid goodbye to a few characters and learned something new about Miss Stackhouse. There was also an odd Massengill-esque sequence somewhere in the middle of the show that you really have to watch for yourself. I won’t say anymore, since some of you may still have it sitting on your TIVOs, but you can read the entire recap over at Salon here.

Maybe I will say one more thing, Pam is my new favorite vampire. Watch the end of TB and tell me I’m wrong.

I’m a waitress…what the f*** are you?

True-Blood-Dr-Jays

Sooo…thoughts…questions…comments about last night’s True Blood? Overall, it was just ok for me. I’m happy that Maryann and Eggs are gone and that the town is back to it’s usual Springfield-like self. I had hoped to see more of Queen Sophie, although I am sure that she will be a focus of the show next season. Sookie just grated on me, she was pretty useless when she had that whole glowy hand thing going on the last time she faced Maryann. She was a big wimp in this episode, with a whole lot of crying and yelling “Let meeee go Beeel!”

Newsweek has a few questions after last night’s finale.

E!Online has a few notes after watching the show.

Chicago Tribune talks to Nelsan Ellis(Lafayette) about the finale and what’s next for his character.

A new cast member has been added for next season, Tony winner Dennis O’Hare will be the new King of Mississippi.

Nine long months until Season Three gang! No idea where I will get my cheap thrill from now.

I have no quirky title for this post.

Happy long weekend everyone. The holiday weekend means there will be no new Eureka or True Blood. There will however be a brand spanking new Mad Men and the ION network will be debuting a new series, Durham County.  Durham County looks kinda Twin Peak-ish from the previews. Here are today’s tidbits:

Lorne Michaels adds two new female cast members to SNL…then promptly fires two others

Chicago Now talks to Hugh Dillon, star of the new Durham County, and currently starring in Flashpoint.

True Blood’s Eggs, has a new gig.

TVSquad has a sneak peak at this week’s Mad Men.

Project Runway’s Tim Gunn…now in comic book form!

That’s it for now gang, more to come this weekend. Now get out and enjoy your day!

True Blood: “Sucker Punch”. No kidding.

So what did everyone think about lastnight’s True Blood? I was a little disappointed, this episode really felt like a filler. Did Alan Ball step out of the room when they wrote this one? The whole season is only 12 episodes so to have an episode wasted like that is a little irritating. The show should have stayed in Dallas and spent a little more time on the whole Fellowship/Godric storyline.

I will let Mark Blankenship over at The Huffington Post explain all the reasons why last night’s show was a disaster.

Once a vampire…

eric

It’s a bit of typecasting, but Cam Gigandet(Twilight) and Stephen Moyer(True Blood), have been cast in the new vampire film Priest. The movie, starring Paul Bettany and Maggie Q, follows a priest (Paul Bettany) who rebels against the church to avenge a group of murderous vampires who have kidnapped his niece. Gigandet’s character helps the priest because he is in love with his niece, while Moyer plays the brother of the clergyman.

Here’s some other True Blood items of interest:

Ed Quinn who was sadly blown to bits as Stan the Vampire, has been added to the cast of Mischa Barton’s new series, The Beautiful Life, which will air in the fall on The CW. Read the article here.

MTV shares some fun facts about Alexander Skarsgard(Eric Northman) in honor of his 33rd birthday.

My Three Day Late True Blood rant.

Holy crap! That was some True Blood episode, with the Bloody Heart Pie Eating and wacko Fellowship of the Sun followers, I don’t know what part I loved the best. It was nice to see Nathan Stark back in action and with a southern accent. He was killing me with the cowboy hat and all black ensemble. Since Alan Ball has veered so completely away from Charlaine Harris’ books, it’s going to be interesting to see who survived last Sunday’s ending.

I should really stop watching the show right before bedtime, I woke up at 4:00am arguing with Alan Ball in my head. Why wouldn’t Sookie hear the thoughts of the Fellowship member the minute he walked into Godric’s nest? Why would he even know where Godric’s nest was since Bill himself said a vampire’s most personal secret was where he sleeps. Also, can we wrap up the whole Tara/Eggs/Maryann storyline soon? It started out well, but now seems to be dragging along. I get it, Maryann is evil, everyone has weird sex when Maryann makes their eyes go black. Got it.

Rant complete.
