Preview of Sunday’s True Blood.

sookie

Who’s ready for hell to break loose on True Blood? Hope The Fellowship gets a good beat down. Here are a few links to hold you until Sunday night:

EW has a preview of Sunday’s show. Click here to watch.

Get an early peek at Queen Sophie Ann, played by Evan Rachel Wood. Click here for a larger image.

NY Mag lists their top 5 gripes about True Blood. I happen to think some of those gripes are why I love True Blood. Yes the special effects aren’t top notch, and yes the accents are over done, that’s part of the appeal for me. It’s campy, cheesy, over the top fun and I enjoy every second of it.

Fearnet.com has an interview with Carrie Preston, who plays waitress Arlene, who is very unfortunate in the love department. Did you know she is married to Michael Emerson from Lost?

Now go out and enjoy your weekend.

True Blood news.

Not a big suprise…True Blood has been picked up for a third season. Can’t wait to see where Alan Ball takes the series next summer. By the way, what did you think of last Sunday’s episode? I just got caught up on the last two episodes. Wow, alot was going on there with all the having sex in a bed of blood thing and a giant pig running around Bon Temp, and of course the orgy scene. That show gets a little more insane every week…and I love it all.

Also, HBO says it will start selling Tru Blood to the masses starting in December:

“The blood-orange carbonated drink has a slightly tart and lightly sweet flavor that is sure to taste better than the O negative blood consumed by the show’s fictional vampires.

The blood-orange carbonated drink has a slightly tart and lightly sweet flavor that is sure to taste better than the O negative blood consumed by the show’s fictional vampires. The blood orange carbonated drink will taste slightly sweet and slightly tart and retail at $16 for a 4 pack. Pricey. Read more about it here.

I’m totally over this whole Summer thing.

fanEveryone in Oregon enjoying the 100+ degree heat? I’m choosing to do the sensible thing and hide in my cave until the sun goes down. Here’s some goodies I found while wandering around the interwebs today:

Check out the True Blood clip that debuted at Comic Con, along with some character revelations from creator, Alan Ball.

NJ.com recaps the Doctor Who panel at this year’s Comic Con.

Highlights from the Torchwood/Being Human panel at CC via Zap2it. Warning: Contains spoilers if you haven’t finished watching Torchwood: Children of Earth yet.

Eureka is coming back for a fourth season. Yay! Airlock Alpha has details on upcoming episodes and talks to Neil Grayson(Fargo) about being the voice of SARAH.

If you are lucky enough to be in Baltimore on July 30th, you can attend the Baltimore Museum of Industry’s wrap up party for the close of  The Wire exhibit, which officially ends on August 1st.

Jon Stewart + Brian Williams = Best Daily Show Ever. Ok, I’m exaggerating, but it was really funny.

I think that’s enough to get you started, try to stay cool if you can…

Worth the wait?

jessica

Did you catch True Blood lastnight? It definitely made up for making us wait a week for a new episode. The birthday party scene was insane with all the sex and dirt eating and Maryann growing claws. Neato. I’ve found some True Blood links to keep you from doing any actual work at the office today:

The LA Times has a recap of last night’s episode and USA Today thinks True Blood is one of TV’s true joys.

TV Guide talks to Michelle Forbes(Maryann) and asks her about the vibrating during sex thing.

E! Online’s Must List Live debates who is the hotter vampire…Eric or Bill? I say Eric. Discuss.

Find out what music was used in the show at True-Blood.net.

Interview with True Blood’s Nelsan Ellis.

lafayette

If you still haven’t watched the season premiere of True Blood, stop reading now. If you have, then here’s an interview with Nelsan Ellis, who plays Lafayette. Lafayette is one of the reasons I am glad Alan Ball is straying from the books. Nelson talks about finding out his character survives:

“When I first started it was only a one-year contract, so I thought I was a goner after the 12th episode. In fact, (Alan) didn’t tell me that he was bringing me back until after the table read for (the season 1 finale). He was like, “You know we’re not killing you, right?” And I was like, “I didn’t know but thanks for telling me.”

He goes on to discuss Lafayette’s relationship with Eric and if he believes he will make it to season 3. Read the rest of the article over at MSNBC.

Was True Blood worth the wait?

eric

So what did you all think of the season premiere of True Blood? I loved it. Just in case you haven’t seen it yet, I won’t reveal any big spoilers, but it’s safe to say I was pleased with the direction Alan Ball is taking. He is straying quite a bit away from the books, but I like where it’s going and it should be a great season.

Minor spoiler alert: Also, how funny was Eric coming down the stairs in a track suit with his hair wrapped in foil for his highlights right before he bites the crap out of that redneck?

SciFi Wire has an interesting interview with Alexander Skarsgard as he discusses developing the character of Eric Northman:

“Season one was an introduction to Eric,” Skarsgard said in an exclusive phone interview last week. “You didn’t see much more than the one side, which is him being the bad-ass vampire leader. In season two we go deeper, and you’ll understand that he is more complex than that and has a sensitive side and a very loyal side. He can be a great friend. He doesn’t like a lot of people, but if he likes you, then he’s extremely loyal. For an actor, it’s something I love to do, to go deeper and play more. I felt that after season one, people were always like, ‘Eric is the evil vampire,’ and I always defended Eric, because I don’t see him as evil at all.”
